If you are concerned about measles, you need to know this

I’m concerned that in this frenzy around measles, that those people who are afraid of the unvaccinated, are urging everyone TO get vaccinated without understanding an important factor.

(See “Can I have visitors” section in the photo above.)

Recently vaccinated people can shed the virus for weeks, and even months, after receiving a live vaccine (the MMR is considered a live vaccine).

Might people consider that could be a contributing factor, if not a large one,  to any outbreak that may, or may not ensue?

It’s important that people understand that at risk people (immunocompromised, infants, elderly) are at risk being around those who are recently vaccinated, too.  The unvaccinated are not the only ones capable of spreading measles.

I was given the LIVE MMR vaccine before leaving the hospital after having my baby. Newborn. 2 days old. Mom given a live vaccine.

There’s not much that makes me angrier than when I think of the risk to my newborn.

It is important for those of you who are concerned about your babies –  please stay away from those who have recently had the vaccines listed on this sheet.
