There are many times throughout my day, where I hear something that fully resonates with me.

This short one minute clip, however, sums up for me why I do what I do.  Why I have built this community and web site around helping parents be present in their hearts, while they raise our next generation of inspiring adults.

In my work with parents, and with my own daughter, one of my missions is to do what I can to raise her to be who she is supposed to be, to help her figure out what it is that lights a fire in her heart, and to go for it.

As an eternal student of the universal Law of Vibration, this has been a significant piece of what I try to help my daughter remember – before I let my “conditioning” somehow limit what she can do.  Because in reality, our children are far more in tune and up to speed with these principles than we are as adults….and my little one reminds me all the time.

Some of you may have heard the story about a Jim Carey, years ago, before he was famous, writing himself a check for $10 million.  And dating it.  Listen to what he says happened next.

 

What I’d like to emphasize here, is that there is far more at work here than the simple act of writing oneself a check.  Like Oprah says, and Abraham Hicks always teaches, it is the setting of intention, in the absence of any resistance, that brings on manifestations.  Yet inside, we have much resistance, which is why often these things don’t pan out for us.

The fundamental principles that these two clips demonstrate are at the heart of what I do with ConsciousParents.org.  How do we, as parents, connect with our hearts, our visions, our intentions, while still allowing our children to be who they will be?  How do we parent them in a way that teaches them, but doesn’t stifle them in any way?
