As today’s digital world gets more and more complex and convoluted, it’s even more important for parents to become conscious parents, meaning, to look at the potential long-term repercussions of our parenting decisions.

What may seem like something innocent and something everyone is doing, so it’s got to be OK….may very well not be.

I was contacted by the New York Times to write about this important topic, because of my continued media appearances relating to how we navigate this challenge as parents.

  1. I won’t say that I’ve never shared my kiddos’ photos online, but it’s something I try not to do much and when I do I try to keep it to a shot with no faces. And it’s very important to us to have long discussions with out kids about social media and the internet when it comes time for them to utilize it more.

  2. Awesome that you got published there! Congratulations. I found you through Google +.

The topic is thought-provoking and definitely can be subject for debate for a long time. I happen to be in the opposite end of the spectrum (as you can see by my blog and my “daughter’s blog”).

Thanks for putting it out there. I’ll definitely be responding to the whole topic in more depth. Thanks for the spark!
