More Facebook trouble for conscious parents

So you snap a photo of your child and post it to Facebook.

Cute, innocent, and fun, right?

Not so fast.

Did you know that it is simple to find out exactly where your child’s school, playground, or even bedroom is?

The Facebook and Internet pictures of children saga on this web site continues….the “everyone is doing it so what’s the big deal” comment is irrelevant, especially after you watch this video. (see my two previous posts that get more traffic than any other content on my site – for a reason!)

Parents, this is not about fear mongering, ConsciousParents.org is about empowering parents to be more conscious in their day to day lives.

In this case, being conscious about the repercussions of technology and social media, which has unintended consequences.

I don’t post pictures of my own child on Facebook or other social media sites, so that’s the simplest way to avoid this.

If you do, however, the video below explains exactly how to turn off the tracking function on your smartphone – do this IMMEDIATELY! It will only take 1 minute.

For my Iphone, I had to go to Settings/Privacy/Location services – I have all of the options set to off, except the map function, so I can find my way around.
